These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Aapdu Ghar website and services. By accessing or using my platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use my service.

1. About the Service

Aapdu Ghar is an online housing listing platform connecting students, singles, couples and families with landlords offering accommodation across Canada. I run this as a marketplace — I do not own, manage, or lease any properties listed on my platform.

Aapdu Ghar is built for the Indian community across Canada, but it is open to everyone. I do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, nationality, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or any other ground — people of every background are welcome to browse, list and use the platform. I started this project with the community and the people I know and trust, and the door is open to everyone.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years of age to create a listing or contact a landlord
• Landlords must have legal authority to rent the property they list
• By using this service, you represent that all information you provide is accurate and truthful

3. Listing Rules for Landlords

When creating a listing on Aapdu Ghar, you agree to:

• Provide accurate descriptions, correct pricing, and real photos of the property
• Only list properties that are legally available for rent in Canada
• Respond to tenant inquiries within a reasonable time (I recommend 48 hours)
• Honour the rent price displayed in your listing at the time a tenant contacts you
• Not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or any other protected ground under applicable Canadian human rights legislation

I reserve the right to remove any listing that violates these rules without notice or refund.

Fair-housing clarification. Canada's provincial human-rights codes prohibit discrimination in housing on protected grounds (including race, ethnic origin, religion, sex, family status, and others). On Aapdu Ghar: ethnic / community preferences (e.g. "Indian Preferred") are not permitted as tenant-selection filters; gender preferences ("Girls / Boys Preferred") are permitted only for shared-accommodation / roommate situations — where the tenant shares the kitchen or bathroom with the landlord or another tenant — which fall under provincial human-rights exemptions for shared housing; and language filters that describe the host's spoken language ("Hindi / Punjabi / Gujarati / Tamil / Telugu Speaking Host") describe a feature of the home, not a requirement imposed on tenants. Any listing that uses preferences to discriminate against protected groups will be rejected.

4. Prohibited Content

You may not post listings that:

• Are fraudulent, misleading, or do not represent a real available property
• Advertise properties located outside Canada
• Include illegal activity, discriminatory language, or inappropriate content
• Duplicate an existing listing for the same property

5. Payment Terms

• Listings cost $20/month (plus applicable taxes) per property
• Payment is processed securely via Stripe
• Listings renew automatically each month unless cancelled
• You may cancel your listing at any time. No refunds are issued for the current billing month once a listing is live
• I reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice

6. Tenant Use

• Browsing and viewing listings is completely free for students, singles, couples and families
• All communication and rental agreements are directly between tenants and landlords. Aapdu Ghar is not a party to any tenancy agreement
• I strongly recommend visiting a property in person before signing any agreement or paying a deposit

7. Disclaimer of Liability

Aapdu Ghar is a platform that connects landlords and students. I do not verify the physical condition of any listed property, the creditworthiness of any tenant, or the trustworthiness of any landlord. I make no guarantees about the accuracy of listings beyond my review process.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aapdu Ghar shall not be liable for any damages arising from your use of the platform, including disputes between landlords and tenants, lost deposits, or issues with any tenancy.

Publicly displayed contact details & address. Landlords may optionally choose to display their phone number, WhatsApp, email and/or full street address publicly on their listing. This is entirely the landlord's own choice. If you choose to make any of these details public, you do so at your own risk, and Aapdu Ghar is not responsible or liable for any consequence arising from that public disclosure — including unwanted contact, misuse of your information, spam, or any resulting loss or harm. We strongly recommend keeping your details private and sharing them only with people you have personally vetted. Anyone viewing a listing must not copy, repost, or share publicly-displayed contact details or addresses for any purpose other than their own genuine inquiry.

8. Intellectual Property

The Aapdu Ghar name, logo, and website design are owned by Lav Gajjar. You may not reproduce or use these without written permission. Photos you upload to your listing remain your property — by uploading them, you grant me a non-exclusive licence to display them on my platform.

9. Termination

I reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account or listing at any time if I believe the Terms have been violated. You may also stop using my service at any time.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario.

11. Changes to These Terms

I may update these Terms from time to time. I will notify users by updating the date above. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
